Magnetic assembly of the vehicle roof
In his brand-new car, the interior ceiling had to be removed and reinstalled. The pre-installed plastic clips were no longer usable after removal. He opted for a magnetic mounting of the vehicle headliner.
Magnetic assembly of the vehicle roof
- Ring magnet Ø 20.0 x 4.5 x 4.0 mm N42 nickel with counterbore north
- Disc magnet Ø 10.0 x 2.0 mm N35 nickel - holds 1 kg
- 6 mm hollow wall anchor and matching washer
- Adhesive

The customer describes his project as follows:
Replacement clips are ridiculously expensive! And necessity is the mother of invention! The curtains, the magnetic flashlight, and the cell phone all need to be attached to the vehicle from the inside. The magnetic flashlight doesn't stick well, and the cell phone now also has a magnetic back. The decision was made to use magnets!
Drilling is out of the question with the new car. Standard hollow wall anchors were inserted into the holes and the ceiling was screwed in with wood screws and ring magnets. For larger holes, I would have used blind nuts with plastic coating.
Small disc magnets look great as covers for the screw heads. These also loosely hold the curtain fabric. The disc magnets were sewn in. The screw heads were covered with self-adhesive silver foil.
This application is always very practical! Everything is stored within easy reach:
- The flashlight and glasses case
- The keychain and cell phone
- The lighter and the closed pocket knife
- The curtains
Additionally, the variation looks much better than the plastic clips.
Warning: Please do not attach any sharp or heavy objects!
