Magnetic attachment of fleece to the cold frame

Attaching fleece to a cold frame with magnets - here's how!
The probably easiest way is to use appropriately bent metal rods, to which you can then simply attach the fleece with magnets. One of our customers solved the problem like this:

Attaching fleece to a cold frame with magnets - here's how!

For my cold frame, I use bent stainless steel rods that I purchased inexpensively from a scrap dealer. The magnets hold the fleece in place. The disc magnet Ø 30.0 x 3.0 mm N45 nickel - holds 6.3 kg has sufficient strength. The fleece can be easily removed for watering.

For the 5-meter-long bed, I needed 8 sheets and 16 magnets. If necessary, I can attach a second magnet to each side. I still lack experience with what happens in strong winds. The adhesive force is so strong, however, that I've decided not to use a second magnet for now.

We would like to add: magnets do not adhere to pure stainless steel! Please use metal rods that are not made of stainless steel. If in doubt, use a magnet to test whether the rods will serve their purpose before bending them.
