Time recording and attendance overview at the THW Meppen
Magnets are used by many aid organizations – both during operations and in day-to-day business. During operations, magnets often help with so-called "situation maps" to quickly assign units to a specific area or operational section and to keep important messages at hand.
The Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) in Meppen now even uses magnets to record the time of emergency personnel and to provide a quick overview of the helpers present. It makes work much easier for managers and executives.

Clear structure on a whiteboard
For this purpose, the organizational structure of the entire local branch is recorded on a large whiteboards / ferro foils. Each emergency responder has their own box containing a card with their name, photo, and barcode. A barcode is used to record deployment and duty time.
Individual cards are made with cut-outs from Magnetic C-profile / Labeling strip height 50 mm x 10 meters.

Upon arrival at the accommodation, the emergency worker takes the card from the board and logs in to the time recording system using a barcode scanner. The card is then reattached to the board, and memo magnet Ø 10 x 6.5 mm FERRITE - green - holds 70 g is placed on it. This way, everyone else knows at a glance that the helper is there or on duty.
The pictures of the volunteers make the whole thing very personal and vivid :-)
