The right destination in sight

The Wiesenburg community's ride-sharing benches.
The initiative was founded at the "Fläming-aktiv" participation conference on October 26, 2019 in Wiesenburg.

In the first attempt, the communities of Wiesenburg, Wiesenburg train station, Reetz, and Schmerwitz are participating in the ride-sharing service.

What has been done so far:

• The design, construction, and cost estimate were developed by the initiative.
• A donation application by OeLaLa in Reetz e.V. to the Mittelbrandenburgische Sparkasse was successful.
  Financing for five ride-sharing bench stations has been secured.
• The approval of the local councils and the municipal administration has been received.
• The next step was the construction of a prototype. It was set up in front of the Sensthof in Reetz and tested.
  The contract has been awarded. The prototype was installed in Reetz at the end of July.
• In the next steps, the additional ride-sharing stations were installed.

The right destination in sight

I have received your neodymium flat bar 120 x 13 x 5 mm with hole and countersink - 35 kg used for our local ride-sharing initiative. The magnetic strip is designed to hold the signs (max. 5 direction indicators) of the ride-sharing destinations in position without mechanical locking. The signs are made of 10 mm thick PVC. A furniture screw securely attaches the signs to the magnetic strip. The force required to release the magnetic connection is optimal. Using their magnetic strip provided the perfect solution!

The Wiesenburg community's carpooling benches

A carpooling bench is a specially signposted and marked bench. It is located in central locations and along traffic arteries.
People who want to reach a specific destination can sit on the bench and signal their destination to drivers using the permanently installed signs.
These contribute to environmental protection. They connect people with one another.
There are no insurance-related issues. The passengers are covered by the driver's liability insurance. The ride goes from the bench to the agreed destination. There are no costs for the passenger.
Unfortunately, there is also a disadvantage: there is no ride guarantee. Ride-sharing bench users are primarily people with more flexible schedules.

To improve the safety of users, vehicle owners who participate in the ride-sharing service receive a ride-sharing sticker, which they display prominently on their windshield.

The stops will have a uniform appearance.
