Floral decorations on tuxedo
A customer from our neighboring country Austria uses our products to attach floral decorations to tuxedos, thus protecting the fabric.
Floral decorations on tuxedos
I'm responsible for providing flowers for the gentlemen on the opening committee at the Lawyers' Ball in Vienna.
We always attached them with pins, but some of the young gentlemen didn't want the resulting holes to damage the lapels of their tuxedos or tailcoats.
So I came up with a solution using magnets: Block magnet 20.0 x 5.0 x 2.0 mm N40 Epoxy - holds 1.4 kg
I sewed two of them into a black ribbon and then simply clipped them over the lapel with the carnation in between.
The system has proven itself extremely successful! No more damaged tuxedos!

We think this is a very useful application!
If you ever attach the flower crookedly, you can simply move the magnets. A pin, however, would require a new hole.
The main difference, and what separates a tuxedo from a suit, is the satin. Tuxedos are worn with a bow tie, and suits with or without a tie. Tuxedos have satin lapels, which can even be a different shade, while suits have lapels of the same fabric.
