Replaced misshapen wheel magnets
Neodymium block and disc magnets as replacements for bulky wheel magnets.
Replaced misshapen wheel magnets
Problem statement:
The inductive signal transmitter magnets for spokes and cranks supplied by virtually all cycling computer manufacturers for measuring speed and cadence are suboptimal. They are far too large, aerodynamically questionable, they whistle at high speeds, are heavy, unsightly, and the mounting methods are also poor and visually unacceptable!
Neodymium block and disc magnets provide a solution here, in the following dimensions:
Block magnet 8.0 x 3.0 x 2.0 mm N44H nickel - holds 650 g and Disc magnet Ø 8.0 x 2.0 mm N45 nickel - holds 1 kg

First, the new magnets are temporarily attached to align them precisely and to perform a function test.
Now you can begin the assembly. I use 5 minutes epoxy adhesive Fast-curing 2-component adhesive. Superglue also works, but with the latter, the magnet can sometimes come loose. ;) It's important to ensure a fairly precise mixing ratio of the components!
Now, the bonding surface must be prepared by lightly roughening it with fine sandpaper.
Then, the surfaces should be degreased with rubbing alcohol. IMPORTANT!

Done! It looks much better and doesn't whistle at speeds over 50 km/h. Of course, you'll also go much, much faster and be ahead of everyone else! ;)
