Magnetic attachment for LTE caravan antenna
Hello Magnet Shop Team,
Due to poor reception at our campsite, it was necessary to mount a directional antenna on our caravan for mobile internet (LTE). The antenna was only intended for temporary use and needed to be easy to attach and remove.
Therefore, I chose a magnetic mount. The bracket consists of part of the original mounting hardware, an aluminum tube, a threaded sleeve, and several nuts, washers, and a threaded rod, all of which are rustproof.
The bracket was mounted on a magnet system Ø 66 mm rubberized with thread M8x15 - holds 25 kg.
I attached a 65 x 65 mm, 3 mm thick galvanized sheet metal angle bracket, which I happened to find at the hardware store, to the caravan's roof rails.
Aligning the antenna is easy. A Telekom website displays the direction of the nearest transmitter in degrees after you enter your current location. You can then use a compass to align the antenna. The antenna easily withstood gusts of force 8 on the very first day. Attaching the antenna with this magnetic system is ideal.
