DIY knife board - magnetic
Hello Magnet Shop Team,
A while ago, I used 20 disc magnet Ø 15.0 x 15.0 mm N45 nickel - holds 14.4 kg to build a knife board.
- Material: Neodymium
- Coating: Nickel (Ni-Cu-Ni)
- Total diameter D: 15.0 mm
- Volume: 2651 mm³
- Max. temperature: 80 °C
- Magnetization quality: N45
- Tolerance: +/- 0.1 mm
- Magnetization direction: axial (parallel to the height)

Appropriate recesses were drilled using a 15 mm Forstner bit. The magnets were secured with small washers to prevent them from pulling each other out of the drilled holes.

Two rows with 9 magnets each. On one side, where the heavier knives are attached, there is also a middle row of magnets.
To prevent the heavy knives from slipping, slightly stronger magnets should be used.

The second generation of my magnetic knife holders is already in the planning stages.
