Magnetic Ludo game
Here we would like to show you another interesting project using our magnets: Magnetic Ludo!
Magnetic Ludo!
Our customer built a Ludo game board as a gift for his parents.
The board is made of the following materials:
- Epoxy resin
- Color pigments to color the resin
- Poplar wood
- Beer mats
- Disc magnet Ø 12.0 x 2.0 mm N35 Nickel - self-adhesive-FT

The game pieces are created using a 3D printer in four different colors and are printed on a metal disc Ø 15 mm with hole and countersink nickel glued.

There is also a container for dice and figures, which also contains the disc magnet Ø 12.0 x 2.0 mm N35 Nickel - self-adhesive-FT has been glued in, so that each part is neatly in its place.

Production:
When working with epoxy resin, it is important to create a well-sealed mold so that the resin cannot leak.
First, place the wood in the mold and then pour the transparent resin over it until it is completely covered. After pouring the epoxy resin, small air bubbles often form, but these can be easily removed with a lighter. Depending on the type of resin, curing takes 24-72 hours.
Once the game board is solid, sand and polish it. Then, mill the recesses for the individual fields. Glue a disc magnet into each hole and fill each color field with the corresponding colored resin. A beer mat is then placed on each of the remaining normal spaces.

Then attach the remaining magnets to the storage box, which was also created in the 3D printer, and glue the printed figures onto the metal washers.

And you have a magnetic Ludo game!
