Magnetic paint for magnetic and creative wall design

Magnetic paint - what is it?

This product is an innovation: thanks to the finest, rust-free iron particles in the water-soluble emulsion paint, our magnetic paints transform any conventional wall into a magnetic surface. And as flexibly as no conventional magnetic foil could do. If a wall has been treated with magnetic paint (e.g. by MagPaint or Dupli-Color) from the Magnet Shop, our magnets can be used to easily attach all materials to the wall. The color is also rich. One liter of the special color is enough for around six square meters for a single application.

Which magnets can be used on magnetic paint?

Not every magnet is suitable for our magnetic colors. As is the case with thin ferrofoils, ferrite magnets tend to be too weak to hold objects on the wall. Neodymium magnets from our range are much more suitable. These super magnets have a very high adhesive force and are available in many shapes. The thickness of the coating, i.e. how many layers of the magnetic paint you have applied to the respective surface, is also important for evaluating the suitable magnets.

Applying magnetic paint

You can treat the magnetic paint like any other wall or emulsion paint in your home. After preparing the surface, stir the paint from the Magnet Shop so that the iron particles in the paint can mix evenly with the paint particles. Then bring the paint to the wall. It doesn't matter whether you paint L-shaped, wavy or in a rectangle. The wall color itself is not magnetic. Due to the iron particles it contains, super magnets adhere to the paint.

What surface can I use magnetic paint on?

With the practical magnetic paint you can not only paint walls with wallpaper or concrete, but also furniture made of different materials. Our magnetic paints can also be applied to wood and plastics. If in doubt, we will be happy to help you. Call us for more information.

How should the surface be prepared?

Before painting, you should check the primer of your wall surfaces. Do you paint on plaster, wallpaper or a wall paint that has already dried out? The following applies in all cases: the surface must be dry, firm and not chalking. Before applying the paint, old paint or glue paints that are not bearing should be removed. You should also consider whether you should not remove old wallpaper before the magnetic paint is applied to the respective surface..

How often does magnetic paint has to be painted?

One liter of magnetic wall paint (Magpaint) is enough for a single coat for up to six square meters of space. We recommend applying at least two coats of paint to the wall. This leads to a higher magnetic effect. If our neodymium magnets should develop their full adhesive force, we recommend even more frequent painting. With four coats of paint, there is enough iron powder on the wall to achieve an optimal result.

Which tool do I need to apply magnetic paint?

Magnetic colors behave like conventional colors. Use suitable brushes or paint rollers to paint. The material of the brush is irrelevant to the functionality of the color.

What can I do on a wall with magnetic paint?

Let your creativity take over your mind and body. With our magnetic paint, you can design oversized memo boards from conventional wall surfaces or even transform a wooden chair in your kitchen into a magnetic surface.

Wall design with magnetic paint

With magnetic paint you can design a flexible magnetic wall and let your creativity run free! The mostly gray magnetic paint can be applied in a wide variety of shapes and then designed with many different colors and magnets from the Magnet Shop range. Whether notes in the study or the most beautiful pictures in the children's room - there are no limits to your ideas!

Photo wall with magnetic paint

A wall covered with magnetic paint is an exceptional communication area. It can be designed as a huge photo wall with the simplest of means. Here only neodymium magnets are necessary as a counterpart to bring the best memories and the fun with your family and friends to the wall. This can also be an individual and great idea for your children's room.

Memo board with magnetic paint

Let's spin this idea further: Instead of photos, you can also stick your notes and reminders for everyday life on the wall. This turns the surface into a magnetic memo board in no time, which you can assemble as you wish.

Magnetic colors as blackboard paint

You can also use magnetic paint as blackboard paint or blackboard lacquer. This turns a normal board into a magnetic eye-catcher - quickly and practically. Of course, you can paint over the gray board paint in the desired colors. The thicker you paint the blackboard paint, the better magnets will stick to the surface afterwards.

MagPaint as an alternative to the whiteboard

Whiteboards are often only used to attach notes or flyers onto them with magnets. If you are about to buy, consider using magnetic paint rather than "whiteboard paint" instead of a whiteboard. You can use it to turn any surface into a blackboard without looking like an ordinary whiteboard. This is also ideal for those who like to do something themselves.

Can magnetic paint be painted over?

If you have applied sufficient magnetic paint, you can paint over the wall with any dispersion varnish. However, you should wait at least six hours before painting the top coat after the last coat in order to achieve an attractive colored result. For any subsequent removal of the magnetic paint, you should either apply the paint to a removable wallpaper or try to gently sand the magnetic paint.
