From a purely visual point of view, the ferrofluid is a completely normal liquid that resembles black oil. But in the vicinity of a magnet, whimsical shapes arise and abstract peaks form almost as if the magnetic liquid were coming to life.

All of this is based on the magnetic properties of our ferrofluid: the finest iron particles with a size of approx. 10 nanometers are in the magnetic liquid (a nanometer is a millionth of a millimeter).
As ferromagnetic elements, they react enormously to magnetic fields and change the shape of the substance through the magnetic forces.
Of course, these iron particles are coated with a special protective layer so that they do not clump together.
