Discover our products and find the right knife block with magnetic properties for your kitchen.
What is a magnetic knife block?
Everyone knows knife blocks for the kitchen. Knives of different sizes can be inserted into the practical blocks made of wood, porcelain or plastic in order to store them in a space-saving manner, but still have them close at hand when cooking.
Knife blocks with magnetic properties offer all of this, but they go one better: The knives cannot simply be inserted into the block, they can also be attached to the outside of the block. For this purpose, strong magnets are embedded in the block that hold the knives in place, either on one or both sides. This looks particularly sophisticated with the S-shaped blocks that you can find in our shop.
Advantages of knife blocks with magnetic properties
With magnetic knife blocks you can see not only the handle of the knife, but the entire kitchen utensil. You can see immediately which knife it is and you don't have to pull several knives out of the kitchen drawer before you have found the right one.
Consumers often fear that the use of magnetic knife blocks will damage the blades of the knives. The opposite is the case: the blades do not dull as quickly because they do not rub against wood when they are pulled out of the slots, as is the case with conventional knife blocks. In addition, there is no direct contact between the magnet and the blade, which is why this is protected with magnetic knife blocks.
Magnetic knife blocks for up to 14 knives
How many knives actually stick to a magnetic knife block? That depends on the type of block:
- 4 to 6 knives on one-sided magnetic blocks
- 8 to 10 knives on double-sided magnetic blocks
- More than 10 knives on multi-sided magnetic blocks
You can attach at least 6 and up to 14 knives to the magnetic knife blocks made of wood (beech or walnut) in our online shop, depending on the product.
The blades can be a maximum of 25 to 29.5 cm long, depending on the block. Of course, you can also attach other magnetic objects to the blocks, such as kitchen scissors.
An inexpensive alternative to magnetic knife blocks for kitchens with less space are magnetic knife strips that can be attached to the wall. You can also buy these in our shop.
Maintenance of magnetic knife blocks
So that your high-quality magnetic wooden knife block stays beautiful for a long time, you should consider a few things:
- Do not place the block near heat sources
- Do not attach wet or dirty knives to it
- Only clean the block with a mild detergent
- Don't let the block get wet
- Do not bring the magnetic block into contact with other magnetic products, electronic devices and magnetized cards
If you follow these care instructions, you and your knives will enjoy your magnetic knife block for a long time.
