What types of school magnets are there?

In our extensive range you will find different types of magnets - for example:

● Horseshoe magnets
U-shaped magnets, painted red and green, in different sizes.

● Rod magnets
Rod-shaped magnets in different sizes and colors.

● Magnetic fluid
Liquid iron that changes shape near magnetic fields.

● Iron powder
Small iron filings, which are ideal for making magnetic field lines visible.

● Flux foil
Detector film with enclosed iron particles, which clearly show magnetic fields between the poles.

● Magnetic numbers
Magnetic foil printed with numbers. Numbers can be removed and stuck to metallic surfaces.

● Compasses and pole finders
Compasses for school lessons and outdoor activities; Pole finder to detect hidden magnetic fields.

● Magnet experiment kit
Construction kit with various magnet sets for school: They contain, for example, magnetic fish for fishing, a car as well as boat housings, ring magnets, block magnets and more.

Info: Our school magnets have color-coded north and south poles for better understanding and increased learning effect. This makes them ideal for use at school or for experiments at home.

What materials are the school magnets made of?

Our magnets not only differ in their texture, shape and size - you will also find different materials in our range.

Ferrite school magnets

Ferrite magnets have the advantage of being very cost-effective. However, their adhesive effect is rather low in comparison.
However, the learning magnets for use at school that you can buy from us are strong enough to lift paper clips, for example. The hard ferrite magnets can also be used to align iron filings to make magnetic field lines visible.

School magnets made from AlNiCo

Magnets made of AlNiCo are a little more expensive to purchase than those made of ferrite but have significantly better stability.
That's why these magnets are particularly in demand in school or research environments because experience shows that they must withstand greater loads there.

This type of magnet is also superior to ferrite magnets in terms of its adhesive effect. However, the holding power of our models is deliberately reduced so that the school magnets are only used to indicate the south and north poles. This reduces the risk of accidents in class.

What experiments are the school magnets suitable for?

A very classic experiment can be carried out using a bar or horseshoe magnet and simple iron powder.
Pour out the powder so that the class can see it (if you have a projector at hand, you can use it to project the silhouette of the iron plates onto the nearest wall) and move the magnet close to the chips.
The small particles then arrange themselves in a linear structure so that they make the magnetic field of the rod magnet visible.

The Flux foil works in a similar way. To do this, place a magnet under the foil. The former leaves a visible, dark imprint, which repeatedly changes shape when pushed.
The foil makes it easy to visualize the adhesive force of the magnet.
