Product information "Magnetic sphere / Sphere magnet Ø 40.0 mm chrome N40 - holds 23 kg"
This large magnetic sphere with a diameter of 40 mm is not for magnetic laymen!
Our neodymium sphere Ø 30 mm already has a considerable adhesive force of a good 12 kg. But this tops the value again by over 10 kg!
Due to the high adhesive force of 23 kg, two spherical magnets cannot simply be separated from each other. To do this, you would have to use a table edge or mechanical device. In contrast to the usual nickel coating, the surface here is chrome-plated. The advantage is the higher abrasion resistance of the coating.
To this day, we are not aware of any really useful use. But maybe you have a practical application at hand? As with all neodymium spherical magnets, the amazing adhesive force only works selectively. It can happen that the coating does not last forever on this contact surface.

Safety Notice
NdFeB magnets are hard and brittle. Especially with thinner dimensions / higher adhesive forces, these can easily break or splinter! An uncontrolled impact of two magnets as well as an external, mechanical shock or pressure load should therefore be avoided!
Determination of the magnetic force
The adhesive force of our magnets is determined at room temperature on a polished plate made of steel S235JR (ST37) with a thickness of 10 mm by the vertical withdrawal of the magnet (1kg ~ 10 N). A different value down to -10% compared to the specified value is possible in exceptional cases. In general, the value is exceeded. Please note that for thinner, painted and not absolute plan undergrounds the adhesive force represents only one raction of the specified values.
